US-Israel attacks on Iran: Death toll and injuries live tracker

Explosions continue to be heard for a 31th day in Iran, Israel, and across several Middle Eastern states after the United States and Israel began attacking Iran on February 28th. Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) reported Iranian attacks on energy sites after Israel struck Iran’s South Pars gasfield, an escalation that has caused oil and gas prices to surge.

Tehran has responded to US and Israeli strikes by launching waves of missiles and drones at Israel and towards several military bases in the Middle East where US forces operate.

Iran had previously warned that if it were attacked, it would respond by targeting US military facilities across the region, which it considers legitimate targets.

Which countries have been attacked?

US forces with Israeli forces have struck Iran since February 28, including the nuclear, military and civilian sites. In retaliation, Iranian forces say it has launched attacks the Middle East where US troops are deployed, as well as Israeli military facilities in Tel Aviv and other parts of Israel.

So far, Iran has launched strikes across nine countries in the region: Bahrain, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the UAE. An Iranian drone also struck a runway at a United Kingdom military base in Cyprus.

On March 28, Yemen’s Houthi rebels attacked Israel with a barrage of ballistic missiles – their first such strikes since the US-Israel war on Iran began.

Most of these attacks have been intercepted.

How many people have been killed or injured?

Below are the confirmed casualties across countries that have been subject to attacks as of Thursday at 13:30 GMT.

Due to the rapidly evolving situation, all figures may change as more information becomes available.

Iran – killed: 1,937, injured: 24,800

At least 1,937 people have been killed by US-Israeli attacks on Iran since February 28, Iran’s Health Ministry says.

• The victims’ ages ranged from eight months to 88 years old
• 240 women and 212 children are among those killed

Over 24,800 people have been injured, including some 4,000 women and 1,621 children.

Israel – killed: 20, injured: 6,008

At least 20 Israelis have been killed and more than 6,008 others wounded.

Israel’s Health Ministry urged Israelis to rush to bomb shelters “with caution”, noting that people have been injured while running to shelters.

At least 180 people were wounded in Iranian missile attacks on the southern city of Dimona – home to the country’s main nuclear facility – and nearby Arad, in one of the most dramatic escalations since the US-Israel war on Iran began.

Iranian state television framed Saturday’s strikes as a “response” to an attack on Iran’s Natanz nuclear enrichment complex earlier in the day, marking a stark new phase of tit-for-tat targeting in the conflict.

The Israeli army says a sixth soldier has been killed in southern Lebanon, where Israeli forces have launched ground operations against Hezbollah.

According to the military, 261 soldiers have been wounded since the start of the war with Iran.

US soldiers – killed: 13, injured: 200

The US military has confirmed 13 fatalities from Iranian attacks across the region.

Additionally, one service member died of a “health-related incident” in Kuwait.

On March 13, US CENTCOM announced all six crew members were killed when a US refuelling aircraft crashed in western Iraq.

Bahrain – killed: 3, injured: Dozens

Iranian missiles have targeted the headquarters of the US Navy’s 5th Fleet in Bahrain’s Juffair area multiple times.

The Ministry of Interior confirmed that an Asian worker was killed on March 2, when debris from an intercepted missile fell onto a foreign vessel undergoing maintenance in Salman Industrial City.

On March 10, a 29-year-old woman was killed and eight people were injured when a residential building in Bahrain’s capital Manama was hit, the country’s Ministry of Interior said.

The UAE’s defence ministry said on March 24 that one of its civilian contractors was killed in an Iranian attack on Bahrain. It identified the contractor as a Moroccan national.

Iraq – killed: 100, injured: Dozens

At least 100 people have been killed, according to Iraqi health authorities. Most of those were members of the paramilitary group the Popular Mobilisation Forces (PMF).

A chief warrant officer died during an attack in the Erbil area of the semi-autonomous Kurdish region in Iraq, which also injured “several” other French soldiers.

A raid on the PMF headquarters in the Jurf al-Sakhar area near Babylon killed at least two people.

Jordan – killed: 0, injured: 29

In Jordan, there have been 29 injuries and no deaths reported.

On March 30, a woman was injured due to falling debris.

Kuwait – killed: 7, injured: Dozens

On March 2, Kuwait’s Defence Ministry said “several” US warplanes had crashed in the country, and all the crew survived.

On March 4, the Kuwaiti Ministry of Health reported the death of a girl from shrapnel-induced injuries.

On March 8, Kuwait’s ⁠Fire Force said ⁠two of its ⁠officers have been killed “while performing duties”. The statement published on X did not provide details on the circumstances of ⁠their deaths.

An Indian worker was killed in an Iranian attack on a power and desalination plant on March 30.

Lebanon – killed: 1,238, injured: 3,543

The number of people killed in Lebanon since Israel renewed widespread attacks on the country now stands at 1,238, according to Lebanon’s Health Ministry. Among those killed are at least 124 children.

At least 3,543 people have also been wounded.

More than one million people have been registered as displaced since the outbreak of the war.

The United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) has confirmed one of its peacekeepers was killed in the country’s south as fighting between Israeli troops and the Hezbollah group intensifies amid Israel’s invasion.

Oman – killed: 3, injured: 15

On March 1, the Oman News Agency, quoting a security source, said two drones had targeted the Port of Duqm, injuring one foreign worker.

Later, Oman’s Maritime Security Centre said a Palau-flagged oil tanker was ‌attacked about 5 nautical miles (9km) off Oman’s Musandam governorate, injuring four people.

Two people were killed in Oman after the downing of a drone in Sohar, Oman.

Qatar – killed: 0, injured: 16

The Qatari Ministry of Interior confirmed that the number of injured was 16 people. Most injuries were reported to be from falling shrapnel and debris, with one person seriously hurt.

The Qatari Ministry of Defence confirmed that two ballistic missiles struck the Al Udeid military base, where US forces are stationed, while a drone targeted an early warning radar installation.

Saudi Arabia – killed: 2, injured: 20

Saudi Arabia says two people have been killed and 20 injured including 12 in the central governorate of Al Kharj after a projectile fell on a residential area.

United Arab Emirates – killed: 11, injured: 178

At least eleven people in the UAE, including nationals from Pakistan, Nepal, Palestine, Indian and Bangladesh, were confirmed killed, and 178 others were wounded.

Two UAE servicemen were killed on Monday after their helicopter crashed because of a “technical malfunction,” the Defence Ministry said.

US military presence in the Middle East

The US has operated military bases in the Middle East for decades.

According to the Council on Foreign Relations, the US operates a broad network of military sites, both permanent and temporary, across at least 19 locations in the region.

Of these, eight are permanent bases in Bahrain, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the UAE.

As of mid-2025, there are about 40,000 to 50,000 US soldiers in the Middle East stationed in both large, permanent bases and smaller forward sites.

The countries with the most US soldiers are Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, the UAE and Saudi Arabia. These installations serve as critical hubs for US air and naval operations, regional logistics, intelligence gathering and force projection.
