For months, US officials pushed the story that Venezuela’s President Nicolas Maduro was the head of a mysterious cartel shipping tonnes of drugs into the US. But since his abduction, the US has admitted the cartel doesn’t exist, and they’re talking a lot about oil. Soraya Lennie explains.
